Bishop John Shelby Spong is a retired Bishop of the Episcopal Church Diocese of Newark. He is one today’s most progressive Christian theologians calling for a radical reform of Christianity. a Biblical scholar & a spiritual visionary, deeply commitment to civil & human rights causes for all minorities & social classes. His writings & lectures are notably controversial, receiving criticism from the Archbishop of Canterbury. His books include “Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism”, “Why Christianity Must Change or Die”, “The Sins of Scripture: Exposing the Bibles Texts of Hate to Reveal the God of Love” & most recently “Eternal Life: A New Vision Beyond Religion, Beyond Theism, Beyond Heaven and Hell”
